THIS is what PRIDE is supposed to be. Thousands of people having fun, dressing up and partying.

This 10 minutes of fantastic footage will make Sitges the #1 Pride in the world!

Summer Deals in Gay Palm Springs

The ultimate desert playground for outdoor adventure, arts and culture, gaming and entertainment. Whether you are planning a family vacation, couple who wants a romantic retreat, or want a girlfriend’s getaway…Palm Springs is “Fun in the Sun” year-round.

Located in Warm Sands,  INNdulge corners the market on comfortable and casual. One section of the structure has the requisite pool and hot tub, and features rooms that are spacious and pampered without being stuffy, with nicely preserved ’50’s style kitchenettes (PS loves its retro history!) There is a poolside social hour (which most inns offer) and INNdulge probably boasts the most spectacular mountain-range view. Practically every Palm Springs Locale is outfitted with misters to combat the desert heat, but INNdulge has the only pool chiller which, when the heat soars to skin-melting temperatures, is quite a draw.

* Historic Warm Sands, Palm Springs most cosmopolitan neighborhood. Located just south of Ramon Road, Warm Sands is within walking distance to all the entertainment, shopping, and dining venues of downtown. Yet the neighborhood remains a world unto itself, one that is a microcosm of everything Palm Springs has to offer.

DESIRE WILL SET YOU FREE film shows Berlins Underground

A unique and honest glimpse into life in contemporary Berlin’s multifaceted underground.

Desire Will Set You Free is a feature-length narrative film that explores artistic and marginalized life in Berlin with an often critical, and sometimes humorous (but never mocking) eye. Based on a true story, and at times traveling into the realm of docufiction, the plot follows the relationship of an American writer of Israeli/Palestinian descent decent and a Russian aspiring artist working as a hustler, offering access to the city’s vibrant queer and underground scenes while examining the differences between expatriate and refugee life. Our characters travel through Berlin’s layered history and unique subcultural landscape; on their adventures they discover influences and remnants of the Weimar Republic, WWII, the Bowie years, and punk.

The film features performances by the queen of punk Nina Hagen, electro star Peaches, Brooklyn’s Blood Orange, German sensation Rummelsnuff, rapper Sookee, Einstürzende Neubauten’s Jochen Arbeit;  and Wolfgang Müller, plus cast members Amber Benson (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame), German film legend Rosa Von Praunheim, artists Eva & Adele, photographer Miron Zownir, as well as newcomers Tim-Fabian Hoffman (Sasha), Chloé Griffin (Cathrine) and the director himself, Yony Leyser (Ezra).

PLEASE   HELP   SUPPORT    THIS  FILM!!

This is the second feature film by Yony Leyser. His previous, the critically acclaimed documentary William S. Burroughs: A Man Within was also funded partially through Kickstarter. A Man Within screened at over 60 international film festivals, was released theatrically in 5 countries, aired on over 15 television stations, and received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the likes of New York Times and Variety, who stated: “Docu does real justice to the Beat writer, gun nut and literary icon … Like his subject, Leyser strives to disengage from the conventional, while still being lucid. He succeeds admirably.” More information at www.williamsburroughsthemovie.com.

St Louis Takes Major Step For Gay Marriage!

ST LOUIS made a bold statement last night just in time for PRIDE WEEKEND!

St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay announced that marriage licenses were issued to four same-sex couples by St. Louis Recorder of Deeds, Sharon Carpenter, June 25, coinciding with the one year anniversary of the Defense of Marriage Act being struck down. The weddings were performed at the St. Louis City Hall.

“St. Louis is a city that doesn’t tolerate discrimination,” said Slay, standing beside the couples. “We are sending a message on what’s right, and I can’t think of anything more right than this.”

The ceremonies were performed in Mayor Slay’s office. Carpenter issued marriage licenses to the couples following the ceremonies despite Missouri’s 2004 constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

“For years I contemplated taking this action, but the the legal climate was never right to take action and take a stand,” said Carpenter. “However, that all changed with the United States Supreme Court decision to rule all citizens have the right to marry under the law.”

“This is a bold move by the Recorder of Deeds, Sharon Carpenter and Mayor Francis Slay,” said A.J. Bockelman, Executive Director of PROMO, Missouri’s statewide LGBT advocacy organization. “With the wave of state after state moving forward on marriage, their move shows that Missouri may not have been the first, but we will certainly not be the last to recognize marriage. We extend a resounding thank you today to these elected officials and the couples involved, all of whom exhibited profiles in courage by taking this action. Effectively they stood together and said it is time to “Show Me Marriage”.”

A lawsuit demanding the recognition of the marriages could be filed as early as this morning.

Gay Travel to Atlantic City

In a quest to get its historically gay vibe back, Atlantic City’s first openly gay mayor will designate an official gay beach Monday afternoon.

The beach, at Park Place, is the site of the original gay beach, back before casinos when gays crowded New York Avenue bars, created rituals around the Miss America pageant, and lived and summered in and around Snake Alley, a winding series of side streets that connect New York Avenue and Kentucky Avenue in the city’s north section.

In addition to the official designation of the LGBT friendly beach, Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian will also announce three LGBT events coming to the resort, which has been marketing to gays and lesbian tourists in recent years.

Jeff Guaracino, a marketing specialist with the Atlantic City Alliance, a casino-funded marketing agency, said the hope is that people in the LGBT community will “not only visit Atlantic City but also open businesses here and also buy primary and secondary homes in Atlantic City.”

THREE  BIG  LGBT EVENTS  coming up…. Sandblast Weekend (July 18-20), the 2014 Miss’d America Pageant (September 28th) and the Stand Out LGBT Expo (September 26-28.)

Gay Weekend Comes To Atlantic City with Sandblast!

Sand Blast the Largest Mid-Atlantic Gay Summer Beach Party

Moves to Atlantic City July 18-20

Sand Blast producer Brad Hurtado announced today he is moving Sand Blast, the largest mid-Atlantic summer gay and lesbian beach party, to Atlantic City, New Jersey Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20, 2014.

Sand Blast Atlantic City’s lineup includes Friday’s LOST AT SEA Kickoff Party at the Chelsea Host Hotel to welcome guests, Saturday’s 7-hour SAND BLAST BEACH PARTY with popular DJ Joe Gauthreaux presiding over the dance floor alongside the ocean at the Bungalow Beach Bar. The weekend long event continues with a gay beach volleyball tournament and live stage performance on Saturday night at The Claridge Hotel’s theater followed by DEEP BLUE, an all-night dance party helmed by DJ Phil Romano from Barcelona, Spain. Sunday’s RIPTIDE POOL PARTY takes over the stunning pool at HARRAH’s with music by DJ Eddie Martinez, followed Sunday evening by the closing party at Caesars spectacular DUSK Nightclub with music by NYC’s DJ Escape.

In the coming days Sand Blast will be announcing two oceanfront Host Hotels offering extremely attractive room packages for weekend guests starting as low as $170/night for a 3-night stay. To be among the first to know when Host Hotel rooms go on sale visit SandBlastWeekend.com and enter your email address to receive Sand Blast event announcement

Sand Blast originated in 2002 when a small group of New York City’s gay and lesbian weekend homeowners in Asbury Park, NJ, decided to create a summer beach weekend so they could invite friends to the once thriving destination, with the goal of increasing its popularity. Twelve years later, Sand Blast has grown into the largest mid-Atlantic summer gay and lesbian beach party. The event’s impact on Asbury Park created a thriving historic downtown, a boardwalk lined with shops, beaches packed with visitors and a vibrant and involved gay and lesbian community of over 600 households & thousands of LGBT visitors.

“The popularity of our weekend of events has caused us to outgrow Asbury Park which has been our beloved home since 2002. Atlantic City with its many hotels, attractions, and party venues was a natural choice, and this move allows us to continue our original mission to introduce our LGBT friends from cities along the east coast to the wonders of the Jersey Shore. Atlantic City’s airport opens the weekend event to an entirely new audience from New England to Florida.” says Hurtado.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian said “We in Atlantic City are excited to host Sand Blast this year,” said Mayor Don Guardian. “This is a great opportunity for the LGBT community to enjoy our beautiful City, free beaches and amazing hotels.”

Anaheim Opens Packing House!

The Anaheim Packing District is
complete now with the Grand Opening of The Anaheim Packing House, the final segment of a multi-faceted restoration project pioneered by the City of Anaheim more than 10 years ago.

The Anaheim Packing District is proud to announce the highly anticipated Grand Opening Day for the newly restored Anaheim Packing House on Saturday, May 31, from noon-10pm, FREE to the public.

This all-day celebration kicks off with live music from various local country and blue grass bands and an Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1pm on the front steps of the former Sunkist citrus packing warehouse. Built in 1919 and saved from certain demise by the Redevelopment Agency in 2000, the Packing House has been lovingly repurposed by the City of Anaheim into a world-class food hall reminiscent of the Ferry Building of San Francisco.  Carefully curated culinary artisans include an Indian café, seafood restaurant, Italian pizza patio, a butcher, fresh veggie and fruit juicery, baker, tea house, gourmet popsicles and much more with communal tables and central music performance mezzanine. Local stakeholders and history buffs will be Honorary Docents for the day and provide free tours of the historical landmark with Grand Opening souvenir giveaways (while supplies last).

This historic landmark, commonly known as the Sunkist Packing House, will now home to approximately 20 local culinary artisans sharing a communal eating and entertainment area, in the tradition of global food halls.

A sampling of Anaheim Packing House gourmet eateries coming soon includes: The Kroft
(gourmet sandwiches and specialty fries), Popbar (gourmet popsicles), Cafectio Organico (Guatemalan-style coffee), The Chippy (fish and chips), ADYA (unique Indian cuisine), Iron Press (waffle sandwiches), Ecco Pizza Shoppe (pizzeria), Wheat & Sons (local butcher), Orange Tei (gourmet sushi and Ramen), Rolling Boil (hot pot restaurant), revolutionary new bakery, Korean barbeque, surprisingly fresh juice bar, artisan cheeses and grilled cheese sandwiches, and more to follow.

The Anaheim brewing tradition also continues within The Packing House with bars The Blind Rabbit (speakeasy) and The Tool Shed(featuring unique organic wines).

The exterior warehouse loading docks have been transformed into dining porches and open top railroad cars have been parked on the original railroad tracks used to transport the citrus crops as additional outdoor
seating.

LAB Holding, LLC, known for the acclaimed community based projects such as
The LAB, The CAMP, The Casino San Clemente, SOLO and others, was engaged by the City to revive the cultural aspects and design of the project.

“The Packing House, built in 1919, is an authentic icon of Orange County’s
agricultural past,” states the LAB. “We honor this tradition by hand
selecting food and beverage purveyors to repurpose this grand hall into a
community gathering place with live music and seasonal celebrations. We
were inspired by Anaheim’s rich history and culture and the photos of
Anaheim’s early immigrant farmers who settled on these very streets.”

ABOUT THE ANAHEIM PACKING DISTRICT

The Anaheim Packing District,
located at 400 S. Anaheim Blvd, Anaheim, a unique gathering place for
local food, drinks and music, includes the Packard Showroom, Farmers
Park and The Anaheim Packing House. Built in 1919, the restored Packing House will serve as a culinary center that brings together artisan food producers and purveyors in a public market type setting. The Packard Showroom houses Anaheim Brewery and Umami Burger, now open. Farmer’s Park, an outdoor marketplace, will soon host an array of community activities such as outdoor concerts, movies, and seasonal festivals. Contact info@anaheimpackingdistrict.com to

Arizona Becomes First State to Legally Refuse to Serve Gays

ARIZONA becomes first state to pass law ALLOWING for discrimination of LGBT people!

No shirt, no shoes, no homosexuals.

That’s the latest anti-gay line coming from religious groups bringing forth a flurry of new state bills seeking ways to refuse providing goods and services to LGBT couples.

Say a gay couple in Phoenix walks into a bakery to order their wedding cake. The baker refuses to take their order because of his deeply held religious beliefs. Under a measure that passed the Arizona Legislature this week, the baker would have greater protection to invoke religion to shield himself from a discrimination lawsuit.

The bill, approved by the Republican-controlled Senate on Wednesday and the GOP-led House on Thursday, would bolster a business owner’s right to refuse service to gays and others if the owner believes doing so violates the practice and observance of his or her religion.

The state Senate passed it on a straight party-line vote, 17 to 13. The House followed suit, 33 to 27, with two Republicans joining all the Democrats in opposition.

Houston Employees Win Battle for Benefits

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Texas face legal challenges and discrimination not faced by other people.

– Just last week a gay couple was pulled from the dance floor of the Cactus Canyon  and told that club policy prohibits gay couples from dancing to
country music. Justin Meyer, 21, and James Douglas, 30, had already
danced several songs without incident, but a manager intervened when the
music switched to Dustin Lynch’s “Cowboys and Angels.”

But when the city of Houston tried to ignore Federal law and denied spousal benefits for LGBT couples, Mayor Annise Parker spoke up and victory prevailed.

Lone Star Q reports:

U.S.
District Judge Lee Rosenthal considered the request after the case was
moved from state court to federal court by the defendants — Mayor Annise
Parker and the city of Houston.

Harris County GOP Chair Jared Woodfill, on behalf of taxpayers Jack Pidgeon and Larry Hicks, sued
Parker and the city in December after she extended benefits to the same-sex spouses of city employees who are legally married in other states.

State District Judge Lisa Millard, a Republican, issued a
restraining order halting the benefits, before the city moved the case
to federal court, where Woodfill sought another restraining order.
Following a lengthy hearing on Thursday afternoon in Houston, Rosenthal
denied the request.
