Prague and the Czech Republic have earned a (generally accurate) reputation of being more liberal than its neighbours to the east like Poland or the Baltic States, and Czechs' attitudes towards issues like gay rights or drugs are far more tolerant. The biggest example of the Czech Republic's progressive policies towards the homosexual community would be its passing of historic legislation legalizing registered partnerships for same-sex couples in July 2006.

This means that Prague has far more gay and gay-friendly clubs than most Eastern European cities, and is quickly becoming a popular travel destination for gay tourists. By some estimates, well over  half a million visitors to Prague per year have used services aimed at the gay community.

It's a gorgeous, old city. Prague is one of the most exciting cities in Central Europe with wonderful sightseeing, opera, music, restaurants & nightlife.

For centuries it has been known as Zlatá Praha or Golden Prague - a glittering jewel of art and architecture nestling snugly at the heart of Europe.

Home to emperors and kings, artists and astronomers, this beautiful and fascinating city has worked its subtle magic on generations of visitors, and lent inspiration to musicians and writers from Mozart to Dvořák and Kafka to Klíma.

Kidnapped by communism for 40 years, Prague has returned to the capitalist fold to become one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. Largely undamaged by the ravages of WWII, its cityscape offers a smorgasbord of stunning architecture, from the soaring verticals of Gothic spires and the buxom exuberance of baroque domes to the sensuous elegance of Art Nouveau maidens and the chiselled cheekbones of Cubist façades.

Porn, as we know, also thrives in Prague. We did an article here last year about that. Thanks to mastermind George Duroy of Bel Ami,  and the countries low wages and willing young men, an empire was launched. William Higgins, who was  known for the 1980’s California boys set up shop in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

 There are thousands of sex clubs, bordellos, strip bars, prives, erotic night clubs, sex apartments, erotic centers, escort services, red light districts, call girls and individual sex operators throughout the Czech Republic. From sexy clubs to legalized brothels to single sex flats the Czech Republic has it all.

Not only has Prague become a favorite casting zone for porn film producers worldwide but the whole aspect of 'Czech Sex' in the Czech Republic is leberalised and generally viewed as it should be - a fact of life and nothing to be ashamed of. - Why can't America have a similar view?

I found this interesting article online about prostitution in Prague. - In the quiet and luxurious Vinohrady district, just outside the center of Prague, anyone can walk into certain  gay clubs and have their pick of male escorts. Prostitution is not illegal in the Czech Republic as long as the prostitute is at least 18.


 (Actually, "There are two bars in Prague where escorts are openly available and these are Escape and Temple.  Temple is on the fringes of the gay quarter but is actually in Zizkov, the district that neighbours Vinohrady.  Escape is down town. 
 
However these same escorts often go out to the other gay bars, particularly Valentino and Termix, sometimes with the clients that have picked them up in Escape or Temple or sometimes with their mates.  But I have heard stories of them then attempting to charge anyone who tries to pick them up in Valentino for example." - So if you are NOT looking to pay, keep that in mind.)


In March of 2007, local authorities were constitutionally given the right to regulate this profession– consign it to specific areas.

There is lots to see and do in Prague. Whether you come for the beauty and culture and sightseeing....or wild nights at dance bars, nightclubs and sex dens....Prague has it all.
